Steemit Markdown Editor Now Supports Direct Uploading Of Images
I don't know if this was already announced, by I just saw this tiny modification to the editor this morning. I tried it, and voila: images are magically uploaded to Steemit by drag and drop. And yes, the image of this article was uploaded by using this new tool.

@ned @dan @dantheman, Imagine being able to upload video directly to a Steemit post. Then having the option to have the video play automatically when someone opens the Steemit post. You could also have the option to switch that off and have the video manually switched on by the reader.
From a UX point of view, that would be awesome. From a resource-based point of view (hardware and bandwidth requirements for video encoding, storage and streaming) things are quite complicated.
Video processing and streaming is a business in itself. But yes, if the backend is made in such a way that allows a frictionless interaction with video content, it would be awesome.
Need to dream big brother. I agree though, it is an up hill battle against giants.

@ned @dan @dantheman imo the rebranding should be done ASAP. The sooner the better. Logo needs to be updated across all sites: twitter, steem.io and steemit.com. Brand identity is important imo.

This is AWESOME NEWS..!! Steemit hasn't even scratched the surface yet and these sorts of chances & enhancements cements once again my total belief in the platform. Give it 5-7 years and Steemit will look and feel NOTHING like it does today and will be the No.1 Social Media Platform of choice. Guaranteed..!! Upvoted and shared on twitter for a few more to see.
