in #steemit8 years ago

3D printers are being used to print everything these days! Food, jar handles, a spoon, hammer, shower head, wrench, soap dish, body parts, cars, guns, houses, you name it, there doesn't seem to be a limit. According to the International Data Corporation, it is now estimated that global spending on 3D printing is going to surpass $35 billion dollars in 2020 and this estimate is twice the forecast for this current year.

Thanks to the increasing popularity and innovation with these printers, demand continues to grow and it's expected that the market will see an annual growth rate of around 24.1% over the 2015-2020 period.

There are also a variety of printers now available at different price points, ranging from as low as $200 up to several thousand dollars. It has become increasingly cheaper for a growing number of people to get involved with using these printers in their everyday lives, for their businesses, and other endeavors.

A growing number of cooking professionals, among others, have also been looking to these printers to do everything from make chocolate moldings to decorating cookies.

It's clear that the potential of this technology is still far greater than its current use. What will we see the 3D printer do next?

Right from start, I knew it was a successful project.

The ability to create something on your own that is completely customized to your needs is such gift these days. Especially when everything is standardized to maximize profits.

The main problem with the 3D printing industry is that it is tryng to tell users that everything is easy and problem free and unfortunately it is not like that. Especially when talking about consumer oriented and affordable devices (the mass market)and not high-end business models...
