steemit what is it, and why does it exist?
I found why steemmit was made.
Steemit is not a cherity for the sake of charity, it was made for PROMOTION of steem and maybe some others cryptocurrencies like EOS and BitShares.
This site is a huge promotional avenue, it's like bitcointalk but Ned Scott and Dan Larimer were smarter, they not only made page on bitcointalk, they build own platform, own site where people could make content.
It's a huge content marketing strategy. Some of those 1000s of people may make good content. Money also incentivise us to stay on this site = high retention.
This is why YouTube bloggers here are one of the best in revenue making. This is why those who knew about nature of steemit made Facebook adds and it went popular. Steemit wants get people from huge traffic sources.
My take away from this:
be active not only on steemit, but also somewhere where you can get noticed and then share with them this "secret". After this, you show statistic how many people you were seduced to go to steemit, ON steemit.
