For as Cicero says, even those who argue against fame still want the books they write against it to bear their names in the title and hope to become for despising it. Everything else is subject to barter. "It is easier to cope with poverty than with a bad reputation". Your reputation is of your own creation. It works for you like a magic. It increases your strength and create an aura that inspires people to fear and admires you. It helps you to maneuver your enemies. Reputation precedes you and can do a lot of your work before you lift your finger to it. Just say a word and people will obey you. your reputation is mainly the life of integrity you have lived in the past. It will be very difficult to be erazed. Let your reputation be anchored on honesty and moral values. As you are protecting your reputation, be ready to receive attack by your rivals. They will like to destroy your image, hence, be on the look-out and be ready to thwart them off from you.
If you spoil your own reputation, you can regain it back by living a good life (change) and by associating with people with good reputation.
Be very careful in slandering others and attacking their reputation. Make sure your hands are clean, you are sure of the information you have and don't go too far especially when the person is enjoying peoples sympathy. Any where you are going, try to go and win people's reputation. guard it at all cost, if not, your detractors will appear from all sides to attack it. Never take your good will or good name for granted, constantly renew it and don't let it wither.
