BOT MAKERS - Program Your Sh*t Better! You are Potentially Harming the Platform!!!
I just made a honey-pot post saying not to upvote... and yet I received a swarm of bots upvoting the worthless content due to the amount of formatting perhaps
Please refer to my post to see the problem:
This is a follow up from @trogdor 's post here:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@trogdor/weenis-please-shut-down-your-swarm-of-bots
The bots mostly don't earn anything, compared to the total payouts it's peanuts. It's up to the users. Any one of you can downvote (or report to #steemitabuse on https://steemit.chat) a spam post with a small payout to make it worthless. Nobody will keep running an unprofitable bot forever.
Very true, I just worry that it will render the #hot tag essentially useless and possibly trick users into thinking something has a lot of attention when it may just be one person with an army of bots who like a post (or mis-upvoted a post).
EDIT: I know bots will be a healthy population of Steemit in the future. But posts like this one are meant to motivate bot-makers to be careful with how they make them.
I never thought I will see the day of a "honeypot" post : Great idea
Indeed, this is a problem.
I reported the same case yesterday: https://steemit.com/steemit/@primus/simple-steem-bot-trap
O has this happen to me also! A lot of up votes and the reward was close to none.
They will fuck it all up!
Can we blacklist bots?
just annoying robots
This is only the beginning of the bot invasion. Made a thread about it yesterday. Soon only bots will be left trying to mine steem off of each other.
I think we need to do more of these... this should "out" them quicker.
Nice post!
