Within a few weeks of coming to power, Trump has declared some parts of Somalia as a 'stormy bari region' in one direction. As a result of this announcement, there was a lot of relaxation in the way the US forces followed the rules that saved civilian lives during the anti-terror campaign in Somalia. The Pentagon claims that this announcement increases the authority to determine its goals. This will be applicable to the defeat of the al-Shabab force with the help of the African Union and Somali forces. But in effect, in this order, US troops have been given the right to kill people in Somalia. It's illegal, unethical and responsive.
The United States started bombing Somalia during George Bush's "anti-terrorism war". But civilians did not die so much. As the number of such attacks increased, the rate of civilian deaths has also increased as the previous law is relaxed due to this order of trump. According to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, there are 36 US drone strikes in Somalia from 2001 to 2016. And only in 2017 there were 34 aircraft and drone attacks. Two hundred people died in this.
