Companies like Facebook, control and influence everything and that includes steemit future, because ZuckerBorg is a business men and loves to make money, so I see him developing something in the near future that starts to put steemit on check.
That looks to be the case. As @everittdmickey points out, however, SMTs are a wild card. We better beat ZuckerBorg to the punch with 'em.
