Turkey's First Steemit Project

in #steemit7 years ago

I want to tell you about a project we started in college. When I first heard Steemit "They really launched our project," I said. This Project was not just on paper. We published our project.

TECRUBEM.NET

I am not the project's father, but I will try to explain some parts like the first one because I have a lot of effort and it is legible.

  1. We are a group of about 5-6 people studying electrical-electronics, machinery, map engineering. The whole group is bigger than me; they are all perfect, idealistic people. We have the idea of creating an experience sharing platform. When we say how do we do it, we installed our site tecrubem.net. My idea is not to write academic or absurd writings from the top. It will be simple, maybe very few people will use it, but when that person arrives, it will be in details that will not leave a question mark. Indeed, we started like this; We started writing experiences we all had.

As soon as we wrote an article, two articles, five, ten, hundred, we saved the site from empty house. The number of visitors to our site also increases day by day. We throw joy in every round number. "Friends have entered 50 people today", "This article has read 1,000 people", "Our site has exceeded the threshold of 10,000". At the same time, Alexa ranking of the site, PageRank also rises well. We started to leave behind many quality sites.

We have created many topics for our alternative. Education, entertainment, excursions, such as the sex / relatives section, which is most popular.

But after a while the texts began to shorten, the sendings began to diminish. The first reason for this was the increase in class intensity. We also noticed that our worthy experiences have decreased. I have written some writings by compiling researches that I have made from internet for some periods, such as holidays I made in Kuşadası, which I have never visited :)

After a look, the writings have come to the extreme, but we want to go on with the project. Again, while sitting in an evening brain storm, the idea came to open the site to other users. This idea made sense, but our biggest problem is: Why do people write?

Perhaps we have found the solution of each person's first thought. To pay per click.

we prepared an algorithm in simple level. This is the most similar part to Steemit. We can not use too many variables in our algorithm because our only source of revenue is Google Ads. In summary :

  • Money will be given according to the number of reads
  • Most commented, shared, visited articles will be published on the main page

We thought people would take care of it, they started to write one day. Although our payment amounts are low, some have started to write for some, some for pleasure. People write dozens of experiences every day. Some are out of concept, others are full of errors (we do not say we have perfect Turkish, but some of the writings were literally written on the keyboard). This time a different situation emerged; Checking for spelling mistakes, looking for duplicate content, etc.

In the ensuing process, our work was far more than making content, making checks at our own pace. Meanwhile, the number of visitors to the site continues to increase but we can not earn any income. We distribute the money to the authors.

We did not make five cents in this process, we did it for the pleasure, but as I said at the beginning, other friends started to graduate from the big and one by one. We lost blood in every graduation, our brainstorming meetings began to diminish. Our project, which we see very bright for the future, is beginning to disappear. Our main downfall is that the software of the site is that our friend who is interested in designing can not take more time.

We did not understand how, but once we realized we were not talking about our project anymore.

When we come together again we bring Tecrubem to the agenda, but as a beautiful memory, we can not begin with the energy of that first day after that.

Steemit and my project are very similar. Sometimes people looking for a place to write is really nice to have such a platform.

Although I have discovered it late, I will continue to follow it closely.
