Be Careful If You Decide To Use Steemit's Platform

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Today I got a reply to one of my videos on steemit that really saddened and enraged me:

"This user is on the @buildawhale blacklist for one or more of the following reasons: spam, plagiarism, scam or fraud."

I decided to venture out from youtube to blockchain websites to get away from that kind of crap. Instead of algorithms and trusted flaggers, steemit uses bots.

They have a strange system there. The bigwigs of the platform are called whales. Below them are orcas, dolphins, minnows and the lowest level is redfish. The more steem power you have the higher your rank. I am a redfish. I started posting there after losing my main youtube channel to censorship after the Florida school shooting.

I had high hopes of earning some money while meeting some like-minded new friends. I have made a couple of good contacts there, but money is not forthcoming. Now that I'm "flagged" I doubt it ever will be. It takes a lot of work there to build up from the lowest levels and to have my hopes dashed like this really disgusts me.

Wish You Success
