RE: Community Survey: Should We be Allowed to Upvote our Own Comments?

in #steemit7 years ago

It only makes sense, as a user with content on a blockchian, it would only be fair for ALL users to be able to upvote their own post, so that the max number of upvotes are available.

There maybe some cons, but wouldn't more upvotes just be better for evreyone's Steemit? Not like 1 vote will make or break content anyway, in fact at this stage, it may make sense for content to get a 1 pt boost for visibility.

Steemit is cool, but the content is very lacking. Lots of crypto, not a bad thing, but they should make the site appeal to more content creators, other than those in crypto sphere.

Votes on Steemit are not equally weighted. It is possible for somebody with a lot of Steem Power to leave a comment on a post and upvote their own comment solely for the purpose of extracting a large percentage of the curation rewards. My post here pertain to upvoting your own comments as that is more controversial on Steemit then upvoting your own post. Although, upvoting your own post is also something that you can do to exploit the way the reward pool works. Check out the hashtag #rewardpoolrape or #rewardpoolrapist and you'll see some abuse out there.
