Introducing @boosterke. Community Curation Project by Steem Kenya [#steemke]

Life on Steemit has always been difficult for minnows regardless of where you come from. It is incredibly more difficult if you come from a less developed part of the world where new technologies always seem to pop up right after they have become deprecated or outrightly no longer in use in other more developed parts of the world.

We never seem to have any value to add, new innovations and inventions, and in most cases we never have anything to contribute to the knowledge base on most platforms like Steemit.

I am not making excuses though. Great minds like Albert Einstein went through several hurdles in an age where contraptions were built from wood and most processes required a massive amount of trial and error to end up with a valuable final product.

One can only think back to the early man who was able to identify what was good to eat and what was not. You can imagine the meticulous records that were kept and passed on in that early age when they identified those crops and the number of people who perished experimenting and ended up with an inedible mouthful of poison instead.

This project concept is not new. It is just a bunch of like-minded individuals who are willing to put in some of their hard earned STEEM and SBD into a single account so as to support minnows from Kenya, Africa, or even the world over so they can find their feet.

Steemit's biggest strengths is also it biggest weakness.

You see, one of Steemit's strengths is also its greatest weakness. Especially for Steemit users who are starting out from scratch with no previous cryptocurrency investments to bring into Steem, the first IntroduceYourself post is usually your proudest moment. This posts earns anywhere from $2 to hundreds of dollars depending on how well it was done and that is usually super exciting. In your mind, you cannot imagine what a great opportunity this is.

In the next couple of posts is where reality kicks in. The next post barely brings in 50 cents. It is even worse once the 25% curation rewards are taken out and then the remaining 75% is later divided by half into Steem Dollars and Steem Power.

Over a couple of weeks most users feel discouraged and would rather just give up on the whole thing rather than put in more effort in their posts. And that right there is where Steem loses its most valuable asset. The user!

@Boosterke hopes to change all this. We at SteemKE hope to give minnows mainly in Kenya a boost to be heard and to be seen. To find the quality hidden amongst the chaff and have that quality out there in the world to be seen and their ideas internalized by a wider audience.

@Boosterke is us taking the initiative and not sitting by the side with a begging dish in our hands. The best solutions to our problems can only be found amongst us.

Help comes to those who help themselves ~ unknown

There is no arguing about that quote at all. Even God himself, for those who are religious, says that he only helps those who are willing to help themselves.

We at SteemKE hope this project will help to promote Steem and the Steem Blockchain in Kenya and Africa in general not only as a way to invest and build wealth but also as a way to learn and interact with some of the best minds in the world.

If you are out there and would like to work with us in seeing this project succeed please find me on Steemit.chat @deniskj to talk to me.

If you would just like to be an anonymous benefactor and you really like the idea of supporting minnows would you please send STEEM, SBD or DELEGATE STEEM POWER to @boosterke. That would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, if you are a Kenyan and you are out there without a place to call home, would you please join the Steem Kenya Discord Channel? https://discord.gg/Wz7E9fC We just had an amazing voice chat with a bunch of members where we discussed how we can succeed on Steemit. Come over and join the party.

Finally, thank you for the massive support I have been receiving daily on my posts. I am very thankful for your upvotes and comments. Have a lovely day and a Happy Jamhuri Day [Independence Day] to my Kenyan followers. I love you all.

A simple way of staying interested in Steem and still exposing yourself to the probability of earning something is by replying to posts from popular users as soon as they are published.

Follow the popular users you find interesting and their posts will be on your feed as soon as they are published.

I used to do this when I was very new to Steemit. I kind of stopped doing it since nobody really paid attention but I will definetly get back to it now that I have got to know many peopleon Steemit.

Thank you for the advice mkdouglas.

This is such a fun project. Can't wait for it to take off. Great initiative.

I am very excited for this. This is a project I believe in and I will pursue it heavily.

The graph and everything else is sooo accurate! Winners keep going.

Exactly. Boosterke will make the journey a bit easier for most of us.

I have to say I made almost nothing on my first post. The next posts were even worse. I left. Anyway I am still not making alot. But i will keep doing it.

That is to be expected. Those who have invested the large amounts always earn from upvotes even if they don't post anything valuable. That's just how it is. We have to build ourselves up despite those challenges.

hehehe @deniskj that graph though.

Quickly whipped up in Paint...haha
