What was my first impression - Fantastic!

That is the word that comes to mind. One cannot simply describe what an amazing learning experience it was. I also got to listen to the success stories from some of the members who were able to make it to the meet-up. We can do so much if we put our heads together!

I had unfortunately missed the very first one after I over-shot my alarm clock after a late night working. This time round I took it upon myself to get there as early as possible. I was the first one to arrive at the venue way ahead of schedule. There was no way I was going to miss this event.

That was one of the best venues I have ever been too. Fantastic ambiance and amazing food and drinks as well. The service was also impeccable. All credits go to @jeanwandimi for the referral. If you are ever in Nairobi, follow this link on Google Maps for directions to the Clarion Coffee Shop. You wont be disappointed.

I would like to thank @mutitum, @jeanwandimi, @cmbugua, and @njromuts for making time to come over for the meet-up. They are probably some of the best people anyone would ever want to work with.

Taking notes during the meeting.

There is a great pool of knowledge and skills amongst the members. We have IT specialists, successful bloggers, developers/coders, amazing photographers - A diverse group of individuals who have so much quality to add into the Steemit community.

During the meet-up we discussed a wide range of things and chief amongst them was the Community Curation Project Account @boosterke.

What is @boosterke?

This is a Community Curation Project for Steemit Kenya whose vision is to build an enabling environment for minnows who are trying very hard to be noticed on Steemit.

This project is not just for any Kenyan minnow. @Boosterke will only seek to vote up minnows who are creating quality content consistently. The goal is to make sure that those who are putting in that extra effort are rewarded well for their work.

The members resolved to be contributing a minimum of 5SBD a month to the account which will be immediately converted into Steem Power. The minimum contribution will continue to rise as our accounts continue to grow.

We hope that by making a combined effort we can spark an intense adoption of Steemit in Kenya as a way to earn Steem and also as a community where you can learn new things, interact with people from all walks of life and maybe draw inspiration from it all.

@Boosterke represents that vision for us. If you are out there and you would like to work with us in building this vision feel free to make a contribution to the @boosterke account. A Steem Power delegation, Steem or even SBD will help make this vision a reality much sooner.

Finally, if you are a Kenyan and you are out there without a place to call home, would you please join the Steem Kenya Discord Channel? Come on over and join the party.
