1 Reason why NOT to power up-in easy speak.
By now you have noticed & or used the market, to exchange sbd for steem I hope.
This is the simplest guide I can give, without breaking down the maths with charts.
- 1 sbd is worth slightly over 1 steem at the moment. Now allow me to show you a 50/50 payment I received.
deliberator claim reward: 0.000 STEEM, 1.636 SBD, and 0.273 SP 23 hours ago (yesterday). This was set at 50/50
The total payout was $4.35 & Author $3.28 Curators $1.08 - @ 50/50
50% in steem power is 0.273 yet I can buy around 1.7 steem for the 1.636 SBD. 100% power up = 0.546 steem power. 1.7 steem exchanged on the market plus 0.273 from the payout is almost 2 steem power.
Power up the steem to steem power and voila 2 steem power instead of 0.546.
So powering up to 100% not only does make financial sense, it also has no point at this moment in time.

Yip I found this out the hard way but was lucky enough to reap the benefits of 50/50 on another post. It is unfortunate that steemit does not really have a nice up to date guide for new users as I think this and bandwidth are just a few issues that frustrate people. Not to mention all the politics around how steemit/steem is being managed .
Tips like this are welcomed and there can never be enough so everyone gets a chance to learn from others as fast as possible and we can avoid frustration and just keep our heads down and move onward and upward together
