This was introduced as a bot protection measure - curators' voting weight will be penalised during the first 30 minutes after an article was posted.

So let me get this straight:

  • An article comes out, I read it within 1 minute (short one) to 15 minutes (more text).
  • If I want to upvote it, because I enjoy it, and get full cash for curating it, I have to wait between 15 and 29 more minutes. Or I upvote it, as soon as I read it, and get no reward (pro bono curation, defeating the core concept of Steemit).
  • In the mean time, developers of bot curators take 5 minutes to edit their code and have their automated software vote at the 30 minute mark.

I'm either missing something or Steemit developers are on crack (@dan, @ned, @dantheman, are you here guys?). Please, share and comment (upvoting is not required, but much appreciated).
