Set A Goal - Have A Plan

Whether it be building muscle, loosing weight, trying to fit into a smaller dress size whatever it be, you need to set some goals. The reason for this is simple, without this understanding of what you want to achieve how can you be expected to get where you want? You need to know where your starting from and where your going, and then plan that journey. Its the same as travelling around the world, going on holiday or even making your daily commute to work. The point is you plan all of these things, you decide where you want to go and you plan your route. You don't just leave your house and hope to end up in Australia or Thailand, or even get on a plane and magically land in a swimming pool. You don't get up at 7am and manage to stumble into your office desk, you know the destination and you have the map to get there. Fitness goals are exactly the same, otherwise your just flapping around not really achieving anything. So before the next time you set foot in the gym, ask yourself what are you trying to achieve? Secondly, how are you going to get there?
