Step 1: Getting started by Signing Up

Getting started is very simple but requires verification to make sure you are a real person or individual and not just a robot spamming the server. All it normally takes is a username and a generated password.

When you log on to steemit.com by either viewing a post of another user or clicking a sign up banner of Steemit from a promoting site, you just need to enter a username of your choice.

Next enter your email address so you may receive a confirmation to verify your account later on, you may also need to verify that you are not a bot as well.

Now its time for the most annoying part for secure purposes. You must enter your phone number so the site can confirm that you are a real person. Just follow the instructions below to register your phone number.

Enter your phone or cell number then select "Next" You will receive a Text Message with a confirmation number. Enter that number and you will be good to go. You will then receive a generated password by the Steemit Blockchain itself so you may logon to the Steemit website and start posting. The password is very important so do not loose it or forget it, Save or Store your password onto a safe place in your file or back it up to your hard drive or phone. There is no password recovery in this system so if you loose it or forget it then you will loose pretty much of everything on Steemit, Even your earnings or money. So please be careful and store your password, this is not a joke!

Step 2: Posting Your Content

Posting your content is very simple just as the same as posting on Social Media blogs, Facebook, Reddit, and Twitter. There are two ways of posting your own content. You may post using regular editory data or my favorite method of all Raw Html. Either way both are very helpful and can help you accomplish a lot on this site.

To upload a picture you just need to either drag the image of what you are posting and drag it directly to your posting page. You may even upload your image by clicking "selecting them" So you may upload it in a simple way.

To upload a video you will need to get the Embed Link from that link and copy and paste it onto your blogging page. You can get Embed Links of videos off from Youtube, Facebook, Dailymotion, or Vemeo. Those are the only video sites I know as of right now and is very helpful.

Note: Video Introductions can be the most important in case it is your first time on Steemit but not optional, It will increase your reputation and will earn a lot of shares for you. You will be popular at the beginning if your video introduction is very positive.

Step 3: Upvoting Posts To Get Paid

Upvoting a post should really not be a big deal however to some people it is depending on the content you post. Reguardless, as long as it remains positive and is created by yourself without the use of duplicating other information and claiming it to be your own, you will be on the safezone. Steemit has zero tolerance for spam or palzerizing and you will earn very low shares or not at all if you do.

To upvote a post just highlight the "blue up" symbol below on the leftside near your earnings and click the "upvote" sign. The poster of the page will get paid for his/her post, it will be the same for you when someone upvotes your post and you will be paid for it. Also you may comment or reply to the poster and upvote to. Your comments can receive upvotes to by other viewers as well while viewing the bloggers post.

Step 4: Follow or Be Follow by Other Users

Follow other members on Steemit could be very important if you want other users to follow you. Depending on the topic of your post you can direct other bloggers to view your content just by following them then replying to their post. As I said before a number of people who view your comments can upvote you but some can view your posting page and follow you once they see your postings that they maybe interested in

To Follow a blogger on Steemit just view the bloggers blogsite and click "Follow"

Step 5: How to use your Steemit Wallet

On the corner right side of your bloggers page you will see the posters wallet. When you view the wallet you will see a cryptocurrency call Steem, Steem Dollars, and Steem Power.

What are the Differences?

Steem is the cryptocurrency being use to convert into bitcoins. You can exchange Steem for bitcoins to deposit in your bank account on Coinbase. If you are interested to get a Coinbase account now just sign up at coinbase.com

Steem Dollars(SBD) is use to increase the interest rate of your Steem, the more Steem Dollars you have the more valueable your account will be. You may also exchange it for Steem or Steem Power.

Steem Power is use to give you more control over your account and can increase the number of upvotes you can receive. This is one of the most important methods to use and can save you a lot of time while posting your content

You can use Steem Power to Powerdown into Steem and keep your earnings just like you can buy Steem Power using your Steem or Steem Dollars. It takes about 6 days for Powerdown so please wait to you receive your funds
