What is TRON?

TRON is a world-leading blockchain-based decentralized protocol that aims to construct a worldwide free content entertainment system with the blockchain and distributed storage technology. The protocol allows each user to freely publish, store and own data, and in the decentralized autonomous form, decides the distribution, subscription, and push of contents and enables content creators by releasing, circulating and dealing with digital assets, thus forming a decentralized content entertainment ecosystem.

Do not get hyped

Browsing through Twitter I found this video of Jack Ma (dated from Nov 2017). We all know that Justin is proud of their relationship, so this will always be a doubt in everyone’s head that both businesses will merge. Certain people will say this will never happen, others will say it will. Truth is no one knows.

It seems certain though that blockchain and Alibaba will be used in a single sentence more often in the future.

Jack Ma is asked about the future of bitcoin
Brief summary: He was asked about the future of bitcoin and mentioned that he does not like bitcoin, but he doesn’t know much about it. However he understands the demand and listens to the public, he knows Blockchain is very powerful. His goal is for Alibaba to move to a cashless system as this would stop corruption that he hates so much.

What do you make of this?

TRX isn't being promoted as a blockchain for moving around money but rather for use on what will compete with Google, Facebook, Netflix, etc. So I don't think TRX will be used as the method of payment at Alibaba though it could be one accepted form of payment.

Keep in mind Tron remains Alpha code. They're not off the Ethereum blockchain yet so I think expecting huge companies to partner now with Tron does not make much sense. We are holding TRX for long-term progress not some short-term moon shot that's entirely unlikely to occur.

I'm a TRX hodler, matter of fact, I just bought another 1k USD worth of TRX recently during this dip. Just throwing it out there before you guys jump onto my throat.

But is there any actual source on the relationship between Jack Ma and Justin? All I see is people calling him his protégé and the future of Jack Ma out of thin air. Is there anything to back that up other than the photo they took together and that Justin graduated from a university named after Jack Ma? I bet I can find a ton of people who took a pic with Jack and who graduated from his university. Did Jack personally say anything about TRX or someone high up from Alibaba even? Just want to see some real sources, not some article implying Jack recognizes TRX and Justin, or someone from Reddit posted that they're tight like father and son.

Again, I'm not trying to put TRX down. If anything, I need it to be on the moon cuz it comprises over 90% of my crypto portfolio right now. I just like actual facts and not random hype. The problem I have with this subreddit is that we hype TRX way too much. It's the complete opposite of how /r/Cryptocurrency sees TRX. If anything, I'd like to see this subreddit and us being as transparent as possible, and not buy into our own hype.

Anyway happy hodling! It's gonna be a wild roller-coaster ride!What we see is Justin throw Jack’s and Alibaba name in a lot of indirect communication. Like here for example.

The constant mentions of Alibaba in his tweets and saying he is the only millennial student from Jack hype people over.

You can find his facebook a short description about him;

Justin (Yuchen) Sun is the founder of TRON and Callme (PEIWO) APP. TRON is the world top 40 crypto network and blockchain entertainment content protocol. PEIWO is one of the largest voice live streaming apps in China. Justin is on the list of Forbes 30 under 30 for three times from 2015 to 2017. He is the only millennial student of Hupan University and becomes a protégé of China’s tycoon Jack Ma, Chairman of the Alibaba Group. Justin obtained a Master Degree from the University of Pennsylvania after he received a bachelor degree from Peking University.

So a lot of indirect facts but nothin direct, this is what makes people wondering.

In my view if Jack himself wants to move to a cashless system, why not go under the person he helped and has some connections? If this is 2 years, in 10 years or never it’s the real question. So, not really trying to hype (hence the start of the thread) but wanted to debate the feasibility of the merge, or even if this would be smooth for Alibaba to adopt crypto.
