How the number of steemit accounts developed in the last 10 months - What'll happen in the next 10 months?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

10 months ago from today, there were about 40.000 total user accounts on steemit.com.

Today, it has more than quadruppled to about 175.000 users and growing exponentially.

However, it looks like most users are staying inactive after registering. In the last 30 days about 30k users were active:

Whereas in the last 7 days there only about half of that:

And in the last 24hours, there is even half of the weekly users:

You can find all recent steemit usernumbers here: https://steemit.com/statistics/@cryptos/check-the-current-number-of-steemit-accounts-and-user-levels

Ok, nice numbers, but what do they mean?
It means that there are like 5% of all accounts active every day i.e. about 8k-10k users. With that amount, it looks like it is pretty profitable to post on steemit:

So it is the best time to post and build a reputation and followership on steemit and maybe even invest in steempower.

In 10 months, if the current trend continues - and there isn't any significant reason so far why it shouldn't - we'll have probably about 500k user accounts on steemit, of which there would be about 25k daily users, so it would be much harder - exactly 5 times harder - to make money on steemit. But, if the value of 1 steem is also going to grow congruently with the new user count, it would be as profitable as today.

And if the price of steem would rise to $10 (currently it is about $1.30), then it would be three times as profitable as today to post content on steemit. This could go viral, meaning when people hear about that, even more people would register and interact on steemit, making it harder or easier to post, depending again on the price development of the Steem coin.
And btw, the steemit platform can handle 5 times as much traffic/users as reddit.

So either, or: Currently, steemit is and probably will stay the best platform to earn some income with quality content.

Interesting hypothesis, could certainly work out that way. Hope it does :-)

Thanks!
Let's not only hope, but work for it ;)
Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat etc. have profited enough from users & content creators, without even sharing a cent from advertising revenue.

This is true, we are leveraging Facebook as we speak.

One steemit user is running a page, steemit blogger central and another is susing small $ he earned here on a FB ad campaign for steemit.

Steem on!

If Steem ends up being huge, I think that will be a massive win for cryptocurrency as a whole. Let's hope this is where this is heading!

How exactly do I start earning for my posts though? I got some likes on them. I only had .5 Steem power(default). Now I have 30 because I bought in. What will that do? Lets say i get 5 likes on something now I have 30 Steem Power, how much USD does that translate too? Any helpful guides appreciated.

Drain The Corrupt Government.

interesting...lets see what the future brings......
