How the Mercer family gave rise to Steve Bannon

Robert Mercer was introduced to Steve Bannon in 2011 by Andrew Breitbart. At the time Breitbart was operating Breitbart news network from his home. That summer the Mercer family donated $10 million to the network giving Breitbart the means to turn his home alt-right conspiracy theory radio show into a legitimate network running illegitimate news stories. Steve Bannon helped to co-found and legitimize this new bolder network that was now backed by the Mercer family. In March of 2012, Steve Bannon would become executive chairman of Breitbart News after Andrew Breitbart suffers a fatal heart attack.

In 2012 Steve Bannon, along with Peter Schweizer, would go on to co-found and become executive chairman of the Government Accountability Institute. With financial backing from the Mercer family and the Koch brothers. The Institutes mission:

"To investigate and expose crony capitalism, misuse of taxpayer monies, and other governmental corruption or malfeasance."

The Institutes main objective was to create outlandish publications from information collected from Deep Web data mining.

In 2013 Robert Mercer created Cambridge Analytica and placed Steve Bannon as Vice President and Secretary of the Board. Cambridge Analytica is currently under criminal investigations for its roles in both the 2016 Presidential Elections and the Brexit campaign. Cambridge Analytica's role in various other elections around the world has been highlighted in Britain's Channel 4 New's scathing expose.

Then, in 2015 Rebekah Mercer and Steve Bannon co-found Glittering Steel a film production company. Glittering Steel under Bannons control went on to produce two controversial alt-right films "Clinton's Cash" and "Bush Bucks". More notably Bannon's production company helped produce ad reels for Make America Number 1 PAC. A super pac backed by Robert Mercer. This PAC would also contract Cambridge Analytica to help spread outlandish stories in an attempt to influence the 2016 Presidential Elections.

Soon after the election Steve Bannon ascended to the newly elected President's cabinet as the Presidents Chief Strategist. This position would only last for 7- months as it seems Bannon political career would suddenly implode.

Rebekah Mercer would effectively replace Bannon in all of his positions he held at companies that had any connection with the Mercer family soon after his resignation from the White House.
