Bees Eating Honey Crystals!

in #steemit8 years ago

Hey everyone, we sell honey by the 500 gram bottle as well as by the kg. After harvesting from the hives we normally bottle around 70% of the honey. The other 30% we leave in a settling tank for sale per kg. This we sell at a cheaper rate for folks coming with their own containers, it works out really nicely.

When the settling tank is emptied there is generally some crystal honey left behind, naturally the bees love this, I feed it back to them, never wasting a drop and nor do they.

Here I took a video of them eating this delightful treat.

Be sure to stay tuned for more of my epic bee-keeping adventures!

Cheer$;)

Thank you my brother really appreciate it. We did an awesome rescue last night will do a blog tomorrow want to be a comprehensive one as these bees are worth it nice big swarm and we had an audience and a nice photographer or two taking pics (the family whom we rescued the bees from) ;) Cheers$;) Bruvvie

Those crystals are my favorite part. When we buy raw honey and keep it for more than a month or two it almost always get's crystals. i don't know what it is. But with crystallized honey i have been known to eat a spoonful of it straight. Weird....but i just really enjoy it.

Hey bud they are the best arent they, its a sign of true raw honey (as much of it no longer exists) mostly irradiated mixed with sugar and whatever other crap. I used to think it was because all the water absorbed but that does not explain how it crystalizes in a sealed container? None the less totally delicious it really is, if we need to eat puke, let it be bee puke :P Interesting thought that eh? Super food raw honey is actually, I eat about a kg and a half a month, madness :) Cheer$;)

I almost prefer the "older" honey after it crystallizes, seems to me to be a richer flavor!

True mate its older and has less nectar and water so more than likely is ;)
