How I Post Bets on Steemit ! (Explained)
Something that should always be done on every post is to make it as enjoyable as possible to read for the ones that are following you and get your posts in their feed. A good post title can be seen similar to newspaper headlines. You want to cut it down so the content of the post is very clear without getting into too much details. Dates like "20.05.2018" are often unnecessary info or are much reader friendly in the "20th May" format in case they really need to be added. Observing some of the bigger Steemit accounts that produce daily content and learn from how they are using post titles can really help. Improving on post titles costs little effort or time
Humans are very visual and The first picture that is also used as a thumbnail picture can be very important. The picture alone should communicate the content of the post. ). Always make sure your pictures is legal under the copyright law or the fair use law. I always use "print screen", paste it into a new MS Paint file, cut the part out that I need and paste it onto a new MS Paint file that has 600x360 pixel ratio. When Posting NBA Bets I just made 7 cover pictures with every day of the week so there was some variation which made things easier to recognise for readers. improving on main thumbnail images often is a matter of putting a little bit of time into it one time to get something that looks good. Afterwards it can be used over and over again on the bets you post!
Everyone who posts bets on Sports has a different objective and betting style. Putting yourself in the shoes of new readers, it can be extremely confusing for them to get a grasp of what they can expect. Having a small intro text where you write in short what you you bring and what can be expected will bring a lot of clarity. Most bets that are posted on Steemit right now are completely random and have no context to them whatsoever which makes it hard for anyone to actually care about them let alone take them serious. It takes little time and effort to write a short text to give a basic idea what your bets are all about, afterwards this can just be copy-pasted and used over and over again on posts with bets to the point where something fundamentally changes.
Writing a text on why you bet something is by no means mandatory but can add a lot of value to a post to the point where posting a bet is not even needed. Steemit and the SBC certainly have a place for betting related informational posts that contain betting centered previews or roundups, injury reports, betting spots, market movements, and so on. When making a write-up, always make sure you point out to the key information you base your bet and and not just go "I think there will be many goals". The odds and reasons why bookmakers have actually got them wrong most of the time are key. Most work that goes into making write-ups is actually following the league and being up to date with the situation. Writing the text in a post never really takes that much time since you already know exactly what you are going to write.
The most important information in the post are the actual bets They should always be easy to recognise and contain the all the vital information for people who are interested in them. The minimum that should always be included...
I personally only post the bets I take at Nitrogensports which are very easy to share because their website offers a link to the actual bets with all the information on what i took myself in a very transparent way. Bets should always be posted close to when they are taken so the odds are accurate. Posting bets that are no longer available or where odds have been long gone does not help anyone and can be seen as record manipulation. I also like to keep a table with the bets I have taken in the same month (Table code will be shared in commenst and on Discord). The only thing that is needed on every new post is to add the new bets to the table and settle the previous bets. This also makes it very easy to make an overall record post after the month is over. Posting bets in a proper way does not require much time and if you keep a table with previous bets that month it also just requires a copy-paste with small adjustments to keep it up to date.
I like to always know and show what my bankroll relative to the first bet I shared on Steemit. It gives a lot of information on the overall approach to anyone who is reading and might be interested to follow. This is by no means mandatory and can also be done in units. For everyone who bets on Sport in a proper way this should take no time to do since it's basically copy-pasting the balance of your bookie or the excel sheet you use to track your results.
Everyone who posts bets on steemit can potentially benefit from Bookmaker Affiliate programs to earn some extra income when followers like what you bring and sign up with your link. This often comes across as a form of Spam so you always want to do this in a very transparent and non pushy way. Since all the bets I post are taken at Nitrogensports and they are a BTC Bookmaker I can really get behind as a serious sports bettor, I don't mind promoting them to others with a small chance to get some referrals that might add up over time. (So far this earned me a small 0.000638 BTC in referral money). I also always put a non-referral link which instantly makes it a lot less hostile. Everyone who places their bets at Nitrogensports will automatically also get links to share their bets that can earn them a bit of passive income if it makes someone sign up. To include an affiliate link it just takes an initial effort to do it properly, afterwards it can be part of the copy-paste template with some potential to earn a passive income.
If you do not have an account with Nitrogensports yet, feel free to sign up with my Affiliate Link if you want to give some support or with their normal link which is also fine.
Keeping a record is one of the core basics that should always come along with posting sports bets. At least aiming to make some profit when posting bets can't be ignored and keeping track of your stats is the best way to track this over time. It is not required to track your overall record day to day since the time frame is often too short, but it should be done at least once each month. This is what I do myself. I make a monthly results report post (which is basically a copy-paste from the bets that were added up and settles in the posts with the bets). I do exactly the same with the monthly posts that are linked in a table and added up to get a total overall record. This also takes little time and only needs to be updated once a month after which it can included in the regular copy-paste template
Betting and Gambling in general can be a tricky thing to many people, for this reason I always end every post that contain bets with a big warning sign to raise some awareness. I also include a couple key informational link for anyone who is thinking about following the bets that were posted. This is again one of those things that take some initial time to write down and can be copy-pasted afterwards.
