GOOD NEWS! Steemit.com is Growing Again and Here are The Stats That Show It!
Summer is over and people are returning to schools and workplaces. Rather than being productive they are avoiding what they are supposed to be doing and surfing the net for dank memes and celebrity clickbait. More and more though are finding Steemit instead.
August was a slow month for user distribution with the daily active users dropping as low as 3,800 down from over 6K in July. The interesting thing is that number ignores how many people were coming to the site that weren't signed in or interacting with the site. While active users were plateauing traffic to the site was still skyrocketing. Both Alexa and Compete scores tell the same story. Steemit.com's traffic is growing at a fantastic rate.
This is great news it means Steemit content is getting traffic and attention. Now they just need to improve their conversion funnel. With the addition of new jobs that I hope will be tackling these improvements posted by @steemitjobs I have high hopes Steemit.com will make some changes to their signup and on-boarding process to really capitalize on this traffic.
The other piece of good news is that with the end of the summer slump daily usage is on the rise again. We are currently sitting at over 5K users on the site in the last 24 hours.
It feels really good to deliver some uplifting numbers after seeing the daily usage stall in August. I can't wait to see more good numbers from Steemit.com into the future.

It would be useful to have views for each post the same way that Flickr lists views.
Well any site can make their own version of steemit content. It's all there to mine from the blockchain. I think it would be truly impossible to know how much a post was viewed if you want to account for all the other sites.
Steemit.com can certainly be considered the main site and I would be happy just to see some analytics from them. I think it will be a while though. I mean profile pics aren't even enabled yet we've got a long way to go.
I've seen quite a few people making posts saying their done with steemit. Just leaves more room for the rest of us getting established early. I'm not smart enough to predict the sustainability of steemit, but there's little doubt in my mind that it will grow a lot more.
any new idea I think gets those who will jump in, plant their feet and work towards it working. Then there are those who stick a toe in, wave it around, complain a lot and then eventually bugger off. Generally, those who do the least, bitch the most.
This is great news. With any luck, we're all early adopters of a Facebook killer. Because let's be honest, if something needs to be put out of its misery, it's Facebook.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go waste more time on Candy Crush.
