Forget it folks. Steemit is dead. I'm waiting for a fork.
I hate to break the news to you, but all your efforts are useless when the whales are sleeping.
yes, go ahead call me a sore loser, flag me down. It will just prove me correct.
I wish I had known about Steemit a week or two earlier. That's when you could still earn a good reputation and make a few bucks.
I hope there better was some maintenance going on today. I looked at the rate of new posts coming in. And it looks pretty bad to me. This way forward and that will be the end of it.
Ps. If you advertise that people will make money when posting here, at least make each vote equivalent to 1 Cent. That's fairer than your algorithm.
@dan @ned @dantheman @berniesanders @dollarvigilante @kevinwong @larkenrose
You can't make every vote worth 1 cent. There's not enough steem dollars. I get regular votes from someone the mid 60's, and his vote is only worth 4 cents. If you want a change, perhaps change the reward display to have more decimal places so that people can see rewards less than 1 cent.
Steemit is flawed. Unless you grow silicon tits and show them you won't make anything. I'd rather spread my stuff for free on Twitter and Facebook. There I don't have to pretend to actually give a shit. And that's real.
I mean, you don't have to pretend to give a shit here, either. And you can make more here than on facebook and twitter. I just made a post that pulled over a dollar in the first 30 minutes. it's more than facebook would pay me.
But for most people the incentives to post here are different. You couldn't strip on Facebook and make money. I'm not defending Facebook. It's a shitty place. I'm just saying that you adjust your opinion out of fear of being flagged and therefor robbed of money.
It's not a good word to use, 'robbed'. You don't have the money until it lands in your wallet. The number you see under your post isn't your money, it's an estimation of how much you'll be rewarded when reward time comes around, if nothing changes. but since everything is always changing, it's not gospel, simply an estimation.
And if you want to adjust your opinion for money, that's fine. If you don't, that's up to you. This is a free and open platform. You can post whatever you want, man. If you get paid for it, good job! If you don't, well, at least they can never erase your posts entirely. Heck, not even you can do that. :P
I have noticed the new posts feed has slowed down. I haven't been on much the last week so I haven't seen if there was anything that happened. I've been sticking around in expectation that once the initial hype wears off things will start looking better. It seems like there are more posts in the new feed with some earnings, but I haven't looked closely at what any of them are. Maybe you're right, maybe it is dead, but I'm far from writing it off.
Well congrats to you for being there early. If you tried getting in now you would feel me.
I do feel you. My being hopeful isn't because of what I've seen so far, it's because I see how it could be a really good platform if things got balanced out.
Thanks.
I could be wrong, but I think the leaders are letting things slide. You can already see women whoring out and posting nudes. I don't know if that is the original idea. I wonder when there will be the first case of child pornography. Not everything should be ruled just by the market. ISIS would probably also like to make some money showing beheadings.
Honestly I feel the content has been cleaned up a lot (and I mean A LOT) in the last month or so. I've always been strongly put-off by a bunch of the content, but that's just the internet. I've posted a few times about a Firefox plugin to disable images, but that's only for that user. People could still post certain content and possibly run away with votes.
Here's your fork
I hope you cashed out bro. Do you really think in two years time this site will be up and running? Can't even spare a few cents?
