Can Reddit survive while Steemit is there?

and yet months later Steemit is still going strong. I think the idea behind it is great. you get votes for writing good content and paid for getting those votes. it makes a lot of sense. and unlike the other commenters on here, I think it will boom if they could only improve their functionality and style of the site.
