Oil being abiotic is an interesting one. I remember someone brought it up in the chatroom the other day, but the full implications didn't occur to me. If it's a replenishing resource, it really lets us look at the world in a different way... Thinking about it now, it would be strange for such large deposits of animal or plant matter to end up in the same place.
