A guide to who to follow in your first days on Steemit
Who would have thought that my Steemit addiction would become so intense within just a few days? I surely didn't but here I am . Blogging, Upvoting, Resteeming and Commenting. Gross, isn't it? And within a few days of using Steem I found something interesting. For the first time in my life I felt the urge to really connect with people. Steemit can do that to you.
In my search to connect I there is a wide variety of users with different "missions". Some are here for good content. Mostly great bloggers who deserve the credit. Other are here for curation purposes only. They mostly upvote and resteem post which they find worthy. Further there are the bulk senders, posting one post after another hoping to get discovered at least once. And last but not least there are the newbies. The newcomers with either lots of ambition or the hope to become an overnight gazilionaire using Steemit.

Like on every network there are influencers and followers. Influencers basically decide who gets a slice of the pie whith their blog. Followers try to follow the influencers and in most cases copy their behaviour in hope to get a piece of the pie too. In fact, Steemit is the perfect network to do so since it really works that way. Everybody gets something.
However, taking your first steps on Steemit can either be very intensive or very discouraging. Once you slowly find out that simply posting a new blog doesn't make you rich you might loose interest right away. It surely happens as I found hundreds accounts that are not active anymore since quite a while. But it's a big cake and I don't think you should get discouraged by the lack of dollars on your own post. In fact that should not be your drive. Focus on yourself and sharing good content.
To motivate you to keep using Steemit and growing your account, follower base and above all, be a promoter of Steemit outside of Steemit I would like to give you a few "Who to follow" tips to things started,
Content
Check out the following accounts for their content. Maybe you will get motivated by reading through their blogs:
@Trafalgar one of my personal favourites. It's like reading a script for a Stacey Dooley documentary with sometimes a funny twist (She makes up for using a PG image by using the word "Fuck").
@timsaid The mythbuster on Steemit. Follow for interesting fact (or are they myths) and travelreportages as well. Great guy really.
@lordvader His bio states "41 year old widower with 2 children. Soul sucking job working in upper management for the government. Raised by a single mother. I have severe anger issues." Even if you don't like Star Wars, Lord Vader will lighten up your day!
@roelandp Great guy, Dutch. Designed http://www.steemtools.com and deserves every credit for it. He also designed some tools himself to get you started. Follow him for interesting blogs, follow his trail for resteems to earn a bit of curation. He is also a witness and my first choice.
@teamsteem The founding fathers of Steem. They deserve every single follower they get.
@meesterboom Great account with great animations. Loves Steem with all his heart so he deserves a mention.
@jerrybanfield The one and only reason I found out about Steem. Great guy, amazingly enthousiast and very motivating.
@sirwinchester Very active Steemian, lots of great content on his blog. Owner of a Digital design company in Germany.

Curation
If you don't plan on posting too much but want to earn some SBD's by curating instead than you should probably take a good look at these accounts. Follow and basically upvote and resteem what they do :)
@automaton great resteem with some great Blogs as well
@thecryptofiend Great Guy. Will talk to you on the chat and help you out if you have any questions.
Please stay tuned for more "Who to follow". There are so many great accounts on Steem but I dont want to make a bulk list of accounts. Less is more in this case. I hope you enjoy and learn from the people on this list.
Cheers,
Cem
Amazing artificial friend.. If you are in curating id reccomend using the auto voter tool.. It will automatically upvote content posted from other users.. This way you don't need to worry about having a look at at remit every time and will vote in the first minutes..
Great post and much love from me
-goldie
thats why your reply gets 8 votes and my blog none?
whats a auto voter tool?

Na da kommt doch Schwung in die Kiste ;)
Klasse
You can use www.streemian.com and www.steemvoter.com to follow curation trails and upvote certian preset authors as you please, be mindfull tho as it can use up your voting power in the backround. Nothing beats finding and reading the posts in person and leaving the author a great comment
indeed! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to leave this comment mate!

Great article. Many of those you suggested I had already come across, but a few I hadn't. Thanks. #followed
You're welcome. Stay tuned for more lists :)
@cem great guide I am honored you included me!
Hi Jerry, You are most welcome!
Echo the auto voter thing.
Yes, @trafalgar cracks me up, too.
Yep she does. You dutch?
Nah, Flemish. I live in the US and my dad's parents were both 100% Belgian, from near Aarsele. (Which I'm no doubt spelling incorrectly.)
I picked up a grand total of zero Flemish from Dad before he passed away in '09. Big regret.
Dan kunnen we toch zeker en vast ook NL praten, toch?
And I have no idea what you said...
Something about the Netherlands?
That we can speak dutch but apparently not haha
thanks a lot cem :) honored
You are most welcome. It's an honor for me. And it's great that we have "met" before. Cheers and please keep on posting haha
