To understand just how far we humans came from one has to take a deep breath and take a step back to see the greater picture: 12'000 years ago humans came together in Anatolia (present day Turkey). They were hunters and gatherers but didn't yet have the knowledge of agriculture and metal processing. They built the first ever Temple known to the human species. Spread over 300 meters they erected massive stone pillars each of them almost 6 meters high. This is where agriculture and trade slowly began getting some traction. About 8000 years ago humans began processing metal for the first time. With this new sensation many new tools emerged. 6000 years ago many new cultures began emerging: Ancient Egypt, the Minoans in Greece and the Sumerians in Mesopotamia.

How will we proceed?

We have to be aware that all our knowledge we have today and can access at any time in the internet is based upon thousands of years of human evolution. But meanwhile our generation is building on the legacy for future humans. With the next revolution coming with AI and greater automatization I see two ways we can proceed from here:

1. Greater Centralization: It's like in the Industrial revolution where a single capitalist has the control over many workers which only earn a small fixed wage. This time it will get even worse because due to the automatization with robots the capitalist have to share even less of their profit and they aren't even providing jobs no more. In the end a few capitalist will control a even greater amount of money (just take a look at Amazon, Facebook, Apple or Google). With money comes power and influence. Concluding that a great part of humanity will be controlled by a small group of people. Even more than today!

But as smart humans are we are always looking for new solutions for current problems. The latest innovation I will present you in the following paragraph.

2. Breaking the trend - Decentralization: It has almost always been like this that the power and influence isn't distributed. A small group of people control and decide what happens to many persons. But there are innovation that disrupt this system. For example the internet is the nicest example: It's a distributed network of computers which can only work together. And there is an other innovation on the way: The Blockchain! It aims to bring us humans a more decentralized system. It is comparable to the internet but the main difference is that with the Blockchain you can exchange and trade value relative easy.

There are limitless possibilities you could program onto the blockchain. For example you could program that every time an artist's music is playing he receives a specific amount of money from the consumer which consumes his/her music. This would make the whole process much easier and the musician wouldn't rely on their middlemen (Record Label or iTunes).

Or like #steemit creating a social media upon a blockchain which distributes the information so that the information isn't stored by big corporations.

I hope the latter option will kick in with the blockchain transforming our current day to day life like the internet did.
