HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE for a new account TO BE APPROVED to get on Steemit

I have a friend wanting to get on Steemit and its been 4 days since he has signed up and still no confirmation .
Just wondering whats taking so long . He is starting to lose his enthusiasm.
Anyone have an answer ??????

    Mines took about a week and my friends was approved in a day.

    May be I am one of those who slogged and waited for our time to come.

    Having said that, its a great platform. I love it.

    Hope they will do something about it soon. I think they approve manually so it takes time.
