Mt. Gox check that out google it, if you have tons of coins on a exchange at any given moment you are at risk of a hacker attack and possibly can loose all your gains or even worse. I will post more about Mt. Gox we cannot forget what happen then, as history tends to repeat its self. after the video I took precautions and decided to research the no tamping sticker, there is a process to check the attestation security to make sure your device is not in harm of a attack.
okay, finally
step 1. attach the micro usb cable to your ledger nano then plug into the computer or laptop or usb 5v power supply, keep in mind we are only configuring from the ledger usb with the given buttons on the side of the usb. we will not be using the computer other than just a power source.
step 2. now we have power to our device we need to push the two top buttons at the same time to start the configuration process
step 3. we are presented with option configure as new devise, hit the right button to begin.
step 4. Choose a PIN CODE.... warning do not forget your pin code choose something you will remember or write down. I picked a date in my life time that represents the 4 digit number like month and day.
after you enter the code it will prompt you to enter again.
step 5. Write down your recovery phrase and write them down correctly letter for letter all lowercase ( DO NOT FORGET THE RECOVERY PHRASE GIVEN TO YOU FROM THE DEVISE) YOU DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN WORDS THEY ARE GIVEN TOO YOU! its like nuclear codes and if you forget them then well that sucks!
after writing all 24 secret given word phrases, its time to confirm your word phrases. in this process it only randomly pics like 3 words. 
after confirming the words it is finished and processing 
devise is now ready
step 5. take a deep breath and relax you just finished setting up your own private bank. I made copies of my 24 word phrase pass code, you can hide them behind maybe a picture frame, safe box, i stored a few copies on some hard drives I have for documents my personal cloud service. As for the ledger I need to find a really safe place to keep it from my kids, dog, mail man, anybody. My plan is to store ethereum over time, also ripple. I will post a future update on how to upgrade firmware and support for other coins.

@busterg thanks for using my art work! Bitcoin and crypto currency is an insane investment. You have to protect your goods. This information is great for the newbie and miners that dont quite know what to do with their crypto change. Protecting your funds that arent FDIC insured is important. I know my husband wpuld be devasted if all his mining efforts were hacked stolen gone in a nanosecond. Thanks for showing us how to be prepared!
