Tons of votes from empty accounts
I noticed i am getting tons of votes on my posts from empty accounts meaning no transactions at all or any posts or comments. Then when you look in history you see someone is promoting to get 200+ votes for 0.75 steem wich gives you roughly 70-80 cents, so defenitly no profit in that. Do your posts also getting upvoted by these bots or not? Testing it again by making this quick post
Likely bots thinking they will harvesting curation rewards... But because of the SP factor, they won't.
When you do it a million times, eventually you gain SP and you gain more rewards... and since it's automated, there is no cost to doing it... and no chance for preventing it either.
This is the reason I think curation rewards need to be tied to a transaction (other than a vote) on the blockchain.
Voting power sort of holds them back as well. Dust (0.001 SP) doesn't add up very fast. Especially when you're voting power drops after 10 votes.
0.01 SP per day means 100 days per 1SP.
100 SP (decent baseline for it to become even close to meaningful) would take 10,000 days. 25 years... Lol. Wonder how much electric that is... Lol.
You're assuming that the bad actors are using only 1 bot each .. as opposed to using hundreds of bots at once...
What sort of a transaction do you propose? A vote is a transaction. Do you mean a comment or a re-steem? Those are both easily automated as well.
A vote is a transaction, however, you can't flag a vote. So there is no way to "punish", or more aptly put, deter, bad actors who only vote. At least not in the current environment.

Yeah, that might be a shortcoming of the current setup. I've thought very briefly about what would happen if we could vote on (or rate, or something?) every interaction with the blockchain. Some kind of advanced reputation system. I'd be interested in thinking about how it would work!
Yep. Plenty of them out there. Their steem power down to 23 or so, and they still keep upvoting. Some are just people who upvote everything and don't have a clue that they no steem power, and don't know how to check it.
