When Steemit saved an annoying Pain filled Night

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

What term would rightfully classify my horrific experience last night?
I really can't tell, and I can't figure out a specific word to make use of!

Yesterday was amazing until I decided to make my hair... I needed something new because I somehow got tired of rocking my short hair. How much I wished I saw the handwriting on the wall!

So, as an average black girl living in Nigeria, I budgeted #4000 to make a new hair :(and ended up with trash, a money not well spent and a long sleepless sad night, which eventually did not turn out so useless as I thought it would be.

I wanted the hair style above from a supposedly super talented hair stylist but ended up with the hair style beneath

Yeah yeah, you can feel sad for me because I am actually in a bad mood this morning!

Everyone seemed to have had one or two comment to make about my hair and my mum has been trying her best to talk some iota of happiness into me by reminding me that the hair isn't so bad... I know right, she is just trying to be my super mum.

So back to last night...
I was awake up until 2am... Yes, 2am you read right!
I couldn't sleep, because I wasn't only avoiding bearing a pain, I was extremely pissed... I sat up with my mirror and torch, watching everyone retreats to bed. My thoughts were disastrous and horrific, oh how I wish I could flog that stylist! I wish I had kept my good old short hair... But then, my thoughts drove me to visit steemit...

While browsing through and reading various steemit posts, I realized that I knew absolutely nothing about the social media platform. I felt like I was floating in a strange land and boom! My sleepless night became fruitful, I was challenged to know more about this beautiful platform.

What did I discover in 2hours? I spent the remaining 2hours of my time reading websites and steemit posts giving good knowledge and know how on making use of, understanding and growing on steemit. I honestly do want to grow in here.

I discovered some good steemit tools that most newbies do not know exist, of which some are;
Steemd.com
Steemitboard.com (I found out that I was not a minnow! I am a red fish, a plankton as at this post... 😕 I still need a million plus vests to become a minnow!)
• Steemit URL shorteners, of which I found steem.link and steemurl.com amazing.

• Steemit has tons of tools found in steemtools.com
• I understood some basic terms in steemit and the consequences of some actions in here (Never beg for posts votes and follows)
• I finally understood the rules of voting in here;
- Do not vote more than 50 times a day... 20 votes per day is just great!
- Give 20 seconds apart before voting on another posts
- The best time to upvote a potential popular post for better duration rewards is 16-29minutes after a post has been made (found this a bit confusing but I will research more on it)
- I also realized that a post per day could just be perfect enough and reading before commenting on a post is highly advisable...

I could go on and on about what I discovered last night but I'd be glad if you too took a long ride to truly understanding steemit and how the social media platform operates.

If you need to know so much about steemit, then kindly visit the post on morelibertynow as it has done super justice by briefly explaining the basics of steemit.

Hello & Cheers!! I'm a content detection and information bot. You are receiving this reply because a short link or links have been detected in your post/comment. The purpose of this message is to inform your readers and yourself about the use of and dangers of short links.

To the readers of the post: Short links are provided by url shortening services. The short links they provide can be useful in some cases. Generally their use is benign. But as with all useful tools there are dangers. Short links can be used to hide all sorts of things. Quite frequently they are used to hide referral links for instance. While not dangerous this can be deceptive. They can also be used to hide dangerous links such as links to phishing sites, sites loaded with malware, scam sites, etc. You should always be extremely cautious before clicking on one. If you don't know and trust the poster don't click. Even if you do you should still be cautious and wary of any site you are sent to. It's always better to visit the site directly and not through a short link.

To the author of the post: While short links may be useful on some sites they are not needed on steemit. You can use markdown to format your links such as this link to steemit. It's as simple as [steemit](https://steemit.com) Unlike short links this allows the reader to see where they are going by simply hovering over the link before they click on it.

This message was created by a bot. It is part of the ongoing fight against spam and phishing attacks on steemit. If you did not use short links in your post and feel you have received this message in error you can contact @fubar-bdhr on discord or @fubar.bdhr on steemit chat to report the issue.

I think you are going to be great on steemit! :)
