Abstract:

Russian President Putin is yearning to be world leader, there are no doubts about that. Fortunately for him all required of him to position Russia in a position to become world leader would be to support ICOs and crypto-currencies.

ICOs are a new investment instrument which could allow Russian businesses and startups to raise billions of dollars from ICO investment. With the US shying away from ICOs, such a move will enrich Russia and could make them resourceful enough to become the new world power.

This week, we published a comprehensive report detailing 8 major reasons why Russian should back Bitcoins and ICOs, in this post I will re-emphasize one of the main points in that report.

ICOs bring economic boast

There is no doubt about the fact that ICOs have become the new model for massive crowdfunding investment campaigns. Wikipedia's list of the world's most successful crowdfunding campaigns is topped by an ICO while the entire list is dominated by ICOs.

Last month Bancor raise $150 million in just 3 hours of ICO while EOS raised $185 million in five days. Others have raised similar amounts in less than a week's duration. There is no doubt about the fact that ICOs bring economic wealth.

Economic boast is what makes a nation powerful

Gone are the days when military strength was power, in this current generation, the power of a nation is directly tied to its economic wealth. Without wealth a nation cannot afford to build a strong military.

War and weaponry are expensive. A single cruise missile can cost upto $1 million, tanks cost several million dollars and battleships are a fortune.

In North korea, we could say the communist government is able to continue developing weapons due to the fact that it directly owns and controls everything in the nation.

Russia needs economic boast

Russia and the US have long been rivals politically, economically and militarily. While Russia may be doing just fine militarily and politically, the US has left it in the dust when it comes to economic wealth.

Russia's main economic wealth comes from its massive reserves of natural gas which it trades to Europe. However with the clock ticking on the use of oil and gas, Russia is no longer as safe economically as before.

It is time for Russia to find new sources of investment for its local businesses and economy. When it comes to record breaking crowdfunding campaign, ICOs have proven to be the undisputed instrument to achieve them.

If Putin and Russia are looking for easy and fast access to direct foreign investment work billion, all the need to do is to be supportive of ICOs in Russia.

ICO may be Russian after all

The US may have invented several of the technologies we use including smartphones, internet, transistor and perhaps perfected nuclear technology. The US is also the undisputed master of capitalism and Initial Public Offerings(IPOs).

However when it comes to the Blockchain based Initial Coin Offerings(ICOs), the US is shying away from it. With most ICO projects being built on Ethereum which was built by a Russian, could it be that the ICOs belongs to Russian just as IPOs belong to America?

Russia still has the time to claim the ICO glory before the US wakes up to it.
