I only wish that I spent 11 minutes on this site, once your hooked you end up here forever. The bounce rate does seem high though, maybe it's just search results. I'd be interested to see the breakdown of social media vs. natural search.
Yes for content sites it is typical to have 40-60% bounce rates. You can read the July 3rd post for some background on bounce rates. Oftentimes when people search for something specific if they don't find it they'll leave. That kind of traffic is hard to improve on.
