What is the Steemit Diet?
The Steemit Diet is a intermittent fasting lifestyle and ketogenic based diet that has been proven to have many great health effects including clearing up skin conditions, reversing type 2 diabetes, curing hemorroids and many other life changing conditions in addition to rapid sustainable weight loss.
How Do I Start?
Alright, first you have to be honest with yourself, do you have an active lifestyle or a sedentary lifestyle? Are you on your feet all day at work or are you stuck behind a desk all day? How much fat do you have on your body? I went out and got a weight watchers scale from Wally World for $40, it claims to know based on my inputs for height, age, gender what my BMI, body fat weight and %, body water and bone % is by shooting electricity into the soles of my feet. Still not sure how I feel about that, couldn’t it massage me at the same time?
If you are active and go to the gym or your job just demands it you are going to need to get your electrolytes into you through your water intake. Don’t drink tap water.
Get yourself some spring water like evian and add some apple cider vinegar, himalayan pink salt, potassium (no salt or salt free are some brand names) and organic lemon juice.
About a litre of water for a sedentary person, double for and active person maybe even triple for an athlete, depends how much you sweat.
I mix it a gallon at a time. 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 heaping teaspoon of himalayan pink salt, 1 heaping teaspoon of potassium, about 8 tablespoons of lemon juice. It’s definitely an acquired taste but it satiates your hunger and fuels the fat burning and helps your kidneys. Again you don’t need more than a litre and a half a day unless you are getting dry mouth. Some like it room temp some like it cold. Some hate it but drink it anyway because it works.
This is all in preparation for your 48 days of 48 hour wet fasts, you will lose 48 lbs, if there is 48 lbs to lose!
Breaking The Food Addiction
From birth, if we are fortunate, we don’t go hungry in North America, our poorest are also our most obese. Our species isn’t wired to eat multiple times a day, or even daily for that matter.
Our modern fast food culture and mainstream fitness diets have people eating/snacking 6 times a day and they can never lose that last 10-15 lbs, or first 10-15 lbs for that matter. The reason is you keep spiking your insulin and telling your body to burn sugar and carbs rather than fat.
How do you program your body to burn fat instead of the junk you’ve programmed it to all these years? Ketosis. When in ketosis your body is fat adapted to burn fat as the primary energy source, which is great for fat people, you are burning fat just existing, not muscle. Muscle does burn fat to exist as well don’t get me wrong.
You could try doing a ketogenic diet for a long time and see how long it takes you to get into ketogenesis or you can fast. Yes fast, like muslims do during Ramadan. Except you can drink the electrolye juice whenever you want during the day as long as you aren’t drinking too much.
48 hours of wet fasting will force your body into ketogenesis, get some ketostrips from your local pharmacy or drug store, the darker the color on the strip, the more fat your body is burning 24/7. The faster the pounds steem off of you. =)

Now you’re saying to yourself, this guy only wants me to eat every two days? Yes, if losing weight is your goal, absolutely. Once your goal weight is attained, you can increase your intake frequency to once a day, but try to maintain a fasting window of 22 hours and a feasting window of 2 hours a day. Morning or night is up to you, everybody is different.
Now you’re saying, easy for this guy to say, can he walk the walk? Yes, I’m currently on 72 lbs in 72 days experiment on myself which is going quite fantastic and I can’t not share this life changing regime with steemit.
Is it going to be rough going along the way? Yes, depending on how sugar and carb dependent you are right now the first few days is going to suck, you might get “keto flu” where you’re body starts flushing toxins and liquidating (literally) fat and the water from those fat cells out your business end. Best to get your first 48 hour fast in over a weekend.
Eat friday night, then Sunday night, or mornings, whatever you like. After a week of 48’s you won’t even be hungry between feasts. You might get cravings, which are awesome because all your senses become heightened, everything smells better, tastes better, you see better. All benefits of fasting. You just incorporate those cravings into your next feast.
First We Fast, Then We Feast!
Alright, you’ve broken your food addiction, you’ve done your first 48 hour wet fast. NOW WE FEAST!
If you’ve got fat on your body you really don’t need to eat, some people have gone as long as 10 days on a wet fast with incredible results and no loss in strength or health.
But we aren’t sadists here on steemit, we are reasonable people looking for reasonable results for minimal financial investment and exertion.
I have eaten whatever I wanted so far in my almost 3 weeks of my experiment and never fallen out of ketosis, your mileage may vary.
Fatty meats and veggies are your friend. Ribeye’s with Ceasar Salad? Bacon Poutine? Cajun Bacon Chicken Ceasar Salad? I’ve had em all for feasts. Boston Pizza Feast, Beer n Wings on pool league nights. Little carbs and no refined sugars, fruit is okay but you want more veggies and fruit. Oddly enough bacon and watermelon is the perfect weightloss meal. Who doesn’t love bacon n watermelon?
