Don't Buy Steem and Steem Dollars

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

I do not recommend for people bitcoin from Indonesia or my clients buy and hold bags for steem, I always remind and tell you with this hashtag

#saveyourbitcoin

I have not seen anything good from steemit, I think steemit just a gathering spot whales to make money here, so I hope no one bought through @bittrex @poloniex @blocktrades

I only recommend you simply make a post introducing yourself and making jokes at least it gets some steem and you can sell

#blackjincrypto

I write this warning to prevent the risk for the beginner, keep holding your bitcoin and please hunt whales here, cheers

Note: Let us together look at the future steemit

I agree 100 %. Steem is not an investment. It's speculation and people will need a greater fool to pay more than they did to earn money. More than 5 % more every year but infinite growth is impossible. I wrote a post here about why the economic model of steem is flawed. I hope you don't mind that I'm posting the link here. If you do I will remove it but I think that what I have written is relevant to what you wrote.

thanks @jimmiandersen
I saw a great game in it, I just think about the major risk for other communities, I still see steemit as whale pool :)

I see it as a kind of ponzi scheme. The problem might be fixed but I don't see how. A transfer of wealth happens from the owners of steem power to content creators, and I don't see why people would be willing to lose money every year just to keep their voting power.

It's definitely NOT a ponzi scheme.
I've literally invested $0 in buying steem, yet have made over $1,000 on posts and comments.
I've been here a week. The post that made me the most money was one where I told a whale he was sounding like a sociopath and encouraging a bad view of this place. I'm hardly a the type of person "go along to get along", or just say things because I think they'll pay off.

That said, what makes a ponzi a ponzi is that you are taking money from new investors to pay old investors. That's not the case here. Here new money is just made on an as needed basis and distributed as fairly as they think is possible to do so.

There is no transfer of wealth from old users to new users either. If the price of steem stops rising then the amount of steem in the system will continue to increase and it will push down the value of each steem in dollar terms. However you are not paid just in steem, you are paid in steem backed dollars. Ergo whether the price goes up or down your holdings are about as secure as anything can be in the crypto world.

Content becomes cash. Literally "a penny for your thoughts".

If you want to speculate that's fine it's your business but when you buy steem off the market it's steem someone earned and is selling.

I rage an piss and moan about a lot of things on this site. But the truth is, bitUSD & SBD are the smartest inventions in the cryptoworld ever in my opinion. People talk about Satoshi Nakamoto needing a nobel prize, but my nominee would be @Dan for this system. Flawed as it may be, it's still a damn site better than anything else going.

A transfer of wealth does happen from owners of steem power to content creators. 5 % every year. I wrote about it in the post I linked to above. When the market cap stops increasing the price will collapse. It is inevitable and many fools will lose money. But it's great for content creators as long as owners of steem power is willing to pay them.

lol why should we listen to a 30 years old man thats still live with his parent..whats a shame

USD buys Bitcoin which buys Steem which then has value. That money is paying for posts. Forum posts are not worth thousands of dollars in the real world. It's a speculative bubble. "A penny for your thoughts" not a thousand dollars for your thoughts .

Wealth is being transferred all over the place on Steemit and not a lot of work is being done. I hope someone is getting what they paid for.

As I write this, you've made .02 for your free speech. Now you've seen something good from STEEM.

yeah @sagda , I just wrote for my people, only a warning to them not to buy and hold the bag for steem, I keep them well for several years

Yes it's great for content creators but that doesn't mean that it's good for the owners of steem power. When steem stops increasing in value people will lose 5 % every year because of inflation. More if the price also falls.

I bought in early enough that I can just earn and collect the power down. You are right nothing is for certain with Steemit but i do like the idea that's for sure!

@dking7334 yeah just do not recommend to my community

I don't even know who your community is my friend.

thanks om for advice, usefull...
