Hello fellow steemians,

I was having a hard time understanding the system and how you upvote system works exactly.
I used the Steemit FAQ Guide for you to explain it better.
( Find the guide here : https://steemit.com/faq.html )

So wat is upvoting, and how do you get your steemitvotes rising in value?

You all start with 100% voting power and everytime you vote you will use a bit of voting power. And as it the voting power drops the value drops also. But the Steem power is refilled daily with 20% so you don't have to you vote completely loses value. You can use up to 40 full strength votes within a 24 hour period without depleting your voting power over time.

As the FAQ Describes :

But the value of the vote all depends on your reputation. Every user has a reputation score next to their name. The reputation score is one way Steemit measures the amount of value you have brought to the community. It is also a mechanism that is designed to help reduce abuse of the Steemit platform.

Your reputation goes up when accounts vote on your content. Getting downvoted by someone with a higher reputation can push your reputation down and make your posts less visible. Users with a lower reputation score are unable to affect your reputation. The way to approve your reputation is to get upvotes in you comments or posts. Everytime you get one upvote you will earn new steempower.
You can also lose steempower. When someone with high reputation downvote you on the quality of your post.

I hope this explained it a bit.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I'm also new at this and trying to understand it perfectly . So please correct me if i'm worng.

Kind regards,

I finally understand how it works. Thanks for you explanation. Followed

very nice to hear! Glad to help you out!

If you have any question i hope to solve them for you!

Kind regard,s

The information you have is a little out of date. Since HF19, you can vote 10 full power (100%) votes per day. It takes 1 day to restore 20% of your voting power still, but each 100% vote "costs" about 2%

As for the value of the vote, it depends on your reputation AND your mVEST. Your mVEST is tied to the amount of Steem Power you have. It is possible to have a negative reputation and still cast a large upvote if you have a lot of mVEST.

As a minnow, I don't worry too much about my voting power unless it drops below 60% which you can look up at http://steemforthe.win or http://steem.supply I do however tend to only cast upvotes for content that I feel adds value to me and the community.

The FAQ needs a HF19 update ...

Thank you for this fine information i will take this with me!

Kind regards,

Thank you for these informations @timeshiftarts !
