Good things Do Come to Good People! To a New Beginning! Here comes @bitfiend the Dolphin!

The shining sun rays poking through the clouds of this picture describes the difference between Friday and Saturday. It's the difference between how my day was on Friday (Fridays fitness thumbnail picture with the mostly hidden sun behind clouds) and Saturday, with shining rays poking through the clouds that signify hope. Like there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. One of the nicest "sky" pictures I have taken, I wanted to share it via the photography tag but it fits this article perfectly. So they weren't taken on each day, it's more of a poetic effect!

Staying Positive

It's not to say that I am traveling through a dark tunnel right now, because I am on Steemit after all and it's great to be here growing my account and helping grow the Steemit community (more importantly, the #comedyopenmic / #comedyopenmicespanol community). It's just that while my internet life is doing great, my personal life could definitely still use some adjustments and I have been working diligently to make them. Hence, all the fitness workout posts I've been making for the last 85 + days.

Obstacles

It's just funny how good things happen when you least expect it. It goes to show that you never know what the good Lord (or if you don't believe, the Universe) has in store for you. Friday I didn't have the best of days and was feeling a bit down. I'm always trying to get ahead and I genuinely try to put my best foot forward. There are obstacles in life, and then there are unnecessary obstacles in life. Obstacles are regular, unavoidable inevitable obstacles like your car breaking down and the cost to repair it breaking your bank. In most cases, these situations are more or less covered with your proverbial "Safety Net" or "Cushion" of funds that you have saved for a rainy day. Even when you don't have a safety net, they are still problems that are foreseeable. Eventually it'll happen or could happen.

It's the unnecessary obstacles that get to me. Something that just didn't need to happen or could have been avoided entirely if the person or people responsible for creating the obstacle would just make the right choice instead of the wrong one. Why people choose to create unnecessary obstacles for themselves simply amazes me and I'll just never understand. It's like choosing to drive drunk even though you know that you can get a DUI that can ultimately cost you more than 8 grand that you don't have. While a DUI is not my issue, everyone has their ups and downs.

It's not that bad! Good things do come!

It's always easy for me to realize that whatever my situation is, it's not that bad. All I have to do is consider the situation in Venezuela and that's enough for me to just suck it up. Of course, nobody is perfect, but while I was upset about my day, little did I know that I would be given two amazing opportunities within the first few hours of the next day.

Friday night as the clock struck midnight, I was on a fare giving a regular customer of mine a ride home in his work truck. We talked about work, work ethics, money and finances. (You bet I threw steemit and my involvement comedyopenmic in the mix). He owns his own business and loves the business I run so he uses us every time he goes out drinking. He actually sold me a boat a few weeks ago in trade for some rides! Well by the time I got home, I had a new text from him.

"If you want a permanent job, give me a call. $1k a week"

What? How can I possibly say no to that? I can't! I'm taking it and running with it. I don't care what the work entails, this is happening! My only issue is that with the wife working during the day, I've got nobody to watch the kid. Should that stop me? Of course not. It's either the wife stops working, changes her hours, or the kid goes to daycare. I need money! I will be contacting him today to see if I can't get started for Monday morning!

Shortly thereafter, I refresh my replies page on steemit only to see a new message. "What's this?" I thought. It says congratulations...congrat...OH! MY! I've been selected!

Just the other day, I was scrolling through the COM discord channel and I noticed a link was shared for "Dolphin Support!" Apply here for dolphin support: 400-800 SP accounts. - I couldn't help but check it out! Someone is offering something and boy am I happy that I applied! While the application process is closed, this isn't quite a plug to get you to sign up but to inform you I was selected! I don't think this rules out any future possibilities for you, if you're not a dolphin yet, so if I were you, I'd stay tuned as this project grows and I would definitely, definitely get involved!

So I am not very religious but I do believe in God. He's my best friend, and I thank him for these things! As my day was going bad, he blessed me with something positive to prove to me that the negativity in my life was not his doing. At least that's how I feel!

Having been selected to receive dolphin support, that means that I am well on my way to be a Steemit Dolphin! I will get there sooner than later and I really look forward to growing the community! One thing that really stood out to me about this program was this quote by @themesopotamians, the top tier account for this program in the introduction post:

I could not be any more grateful for this amazing opportunity and I look forward to being a dolphin! Of course I don't expect this to be an overnight process and I will have to work hard to get there, but I will get there now and I believe much quicker too!
