Real cryptocurrency concerns- Inspired by the Bitcoin Group show (they need a marketing panelist)

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

I am not trying to be a party pooper, I want to be a realist so you can be a realist when it comes time for you to make OR NOT make an altcoin purchase. Every cryptocurrency needs better marketing! Steemit has a built in marketing machine. Nothing wrong with that. More Bitcoin talk shows need a marketing perspective.
Trading or learning to trade altcoins is very risky. You are not going to learn how to trade or invest in altcoins successfully from some dude on the internet. I'm sorry. FEW PEOPLE are successful in trading or investing in altcoins. Its like if I was offering classes on how to win at the golden nugget casino in Vegas. ITS GAMBLING. ALTCOINS are gambling! ICO's and premining are ways to get insiders wealthy- YOU ARE NOT AN INSIDER.

Be careful of Internet Altcoin or trading "experts" who say they have been around a long time. Now 2 years is a long time in the crypto world, a lot can change, BUT it does not give you magical teaching powers and you should not be guiding newbies into altcoin trading which can be incredibly manipulated!!! A key word to look out for is "research" if they keep on saying we have done so much research into XXX coin. Research can mean a lot of things. I think a lot of guys toss it around to make themselves seem wise. Research is NOT WISDOM!

Steemit.com has a content quality problem- a post focused on a video will get over 100 upvotes and lots of money, BUT on youtube it will have less than half those views so that means people are blindly voting it up without watching the video and thus have no idea if the content is any good. Steemit needs to fix this somehow or content will really go down hill and steemit.com and steem will be proven unsustainable in a hurry.

Steemit.com is fun, if you don't hand them a penny you can do well there and who knows they might be on to something huge and I know it is getting newbies into cryptos, BUT BUYING STEEM POWER IS VERY RISKY. Riskier than buying an altcoins because you are locked in for 2 years. BUYING STEEM IS VERY RISKY because they straight up admit they are devaluing it through inflation! YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY A THING TO ENJOY and make money Steeemit!

63% of Americans don't have enough money for a surprise $500 bill! That is less than 1 BTC! If you are one of them you have no business spending a penny on altcoins. If you hear some guy talking about how he spent 6 or 10 BITCOIN on steem or any altcoin, DON'T BE TEMPTED. DON'T LET THAT MAKE YOU FEEL more comfortable.

Experts trading should see your video man I agree 100% , I know a few people called experts they know absolutely nothing because coins change with news, I don't believe in experts trading because they don't exist

They usually leave out how much money they have blown with their so-called strategies. People should just stop playing flipping games with coins. They seek confirmation from these so-called experts and they get it so they continue to do foolish things and slowly blow their Bitcoin. Thanks for the comment.

As a trader bro I listen only to my mind, I have listen before to this stupid guys cald experts I lost 10$ usd so you can imagine how I feel about them, one of them have 0.01 Btc and him self an expert

Good points. The truth is nobody is an expert in this. Crypto is a very risky and unpredictable business. Anybody who makes claims of certainty and knowing exactly what is going to happen is either lying or an idiot and will likely be made to look like a fool. Just look at David Seaman as a good example of this.

Yes I really get a kick out of the guys who end up being contrarian indicators! Sadly there is an even worse category you left out- the failed saboteur. Some of the liars are trying sabotage things and often they end up failing yet there is always another sucker out there who is not paying attention and signs up for the paid newsletter. What a waste. I think it is at the end of this #Bitcoin video where I talk about failed saboteurs ruining their own reputations.

Agree with what you say. I don't think the saboteurs themselves care. I think they know exactly what they are doing. Also nice observation about Coinbase - they do seem to be trying to sabotage themselves - the recent stance on ETC makes it even more apt.
