Coinbase refused to support Ethereum Classic
Coinbase company issued a statement on the possible support Ethereum Classic.
«Coinbase launched ETH support after the implementation on harforka Ethereum network last week. From the outset it supported solely Coinbase transaction ETH, and not in ETC. All coins belonging to ETH customers are safe in the hot and cold storage facilities in accordance with our standard procedures for storage. Coinbase Customers can still buy, sell, send and store ETH ».
"At the moment no plans to support Coinbase ETC. At the same time we will continue to monitor the situation and assess the needs of our customers. Please do not try to refill your account in Coinbase ETC », - said in a statement.
At the same time a member of the Exchange Coinbase GDAX group also published an update regarding hardforka Ethereum.
As is the case with the main platform Coinbase, GDAX currently supports only the ETH. At the same time, the Exchange has confirmed that all tokens ETC, an appropriate balance users to hardforka are in cold storage and after a certain time should be available for withdrawal. Coins ETC, created after hardforka, is currently not supported.
"At the moment we do not plan to support ETC trading in GDAX, although in terms of philosophy, we do not oppose any hardforka or coins", - said GDAX.
There is a simple workaround if you want to get your ETC instead of giving it to Coinbase: move your ETH to Poloniex and stop using Coinbase.
Coinbase is just following the money, so if ETC takes over I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their mind.
