I think Steemit needs to work on it's stream, each post is separate and so is more comparable to Reddit than Facebook, and until this divide between people and their content is removed, Facebook will remain safe. Steemit is off to a good start, but is not sufficiently seamless to pose as a genuine competitor.

And that's an important function, but it needs to be fun/responsive as well, and for many things FB's user experience is superior. I prefer Steemit's community and the fact I own my data, but FB provides massive amounts of information in a way Steemit just doesn't.
