Voting for posts under 30 mins old gives you a penalty, voting for qualty and original content and helpful comments will give you rewards. Also voting on older posts is a waste of vote power. This is my general knowledge so far from my reading of the whitepaper but any further information about vote power accumulation would be helpful.
