Keeping Steemit Content Fresh And Interesting

After having been active on Steemit the past few days it has become clear to me that the quantity of content far outweighs the quality of the content. I think this could be solved in a couple of ways. I was talking with a fellow steemit member ( @ash ) and he brought up the idea of having users under 20 steam being limited to how frequently they post. I think that would be a great idea, because if would force people who are now mass posting content that benefits very few to think before they post. If they want to mass post after they have invested into their account to reach a certain level of steempower they will still be able to, but my guess is the average user posting a lot of this type of content are people who just joined and want to make money quick without thought to the platform or other users experiences on it.

This site has great potential to help fund new artists, musicians, and writers who may be struggling financially and aren't able to make ends meet and pursue their dreams at the same time.

This is also a great platform for people wanting to make a positive impact in people's lives with random acts of kindness generated from the content they post. Even taking some of your steem dollars and turning it into cash and paying for someone's coffee and telling them that you were able to do that through steemit and tell them a little about what the website is and what it has the capability of doing is great too.

Also I think people should be able to have open thoughtful debates about controversial topics in an adult respectful way. Issues like politics, abortion, race issues etc. are buzzwords but rarely do they get talked about by people who aren't spewing hatred toward the group with the opposing view. And I think great discussions that make you think, whether or not you agree with the person writing should merit a vote. 

Obviously not everyone is a great writer or will be able to create content that will generate thousands of dollars, but if you help someone understand something you are passionate about, or add value to the community financially or through comments, then I believe Steemit has the opportunity to be a gem amidst the many other social media platforms. If you can come here be honest, learn something, be inspired, and come away with a thought you didn't have before you came on then people will continue to want to be here. Without that it still has value but won't live up to it's potential as a great social media outlet.
