I'm going to Dinny-Land!!! An Orwellian Nightmare
Besides writing a simple blog about what I ate and the time I went to the bathroom, I decided to write something a little more in depth.
I am currently in Disney World. August is a rainy month with less trourists which makes the hour long wait ride for a two minute thrill a little easier to wait for.
Entering the park was the most disconcerting ever. I have been finger printed by the cops before; for a charge that was withdrawn. However I'm sure my prints are probably part of the system and even if I asked for them to be erased they probably never will be.
So when we entered the disney park they ask for your pass.. and then a finger print scan?
I mean what the F$@K! 30 years ago this wasn't needed. What does my finger print have to do with Dinny-Land?! In any case you either scan or your $200 ticket goes to waste. Makes you wonder if Disney is the gubments way of cataloging people.
Insidious? Quiet possibly. Paranoia? In today's age not so sure. Then we go to Epcot Center and it's all nature consciousness; reduce reuse recycle.. which is fine. However the hypocrisy of Disney is outright laughable. The waste that goes on from the hotels, the products made in china. Just the whole commercial image is capitalism and waste at its best. I have no problem with capitalism, just the hypocrites.
We then see the Lion King; Circle of life telling us how evil we are for pollution and it's our duty to clean up the planet. It felt like a pure propaganda film making me feel bad about the waste corporations (like Disney) perpetrate.
I'll have more to talk about tomorrow.. time to look at some caged animals care of a disney..

Yeah the finger scanning is ridiculous!
They scan finger prints to check for criminals and sexual predators to keep them from entering the park since there are so many kids there. Disney is all about the "experience". They also hide the lines so you can't see that there is literally a mile of humans ahead of you. It reminds me in many ways of North Korea.
well I don't have a problem with screening sexual predators however who is to say they are not cataloging regular people.. spending habits and other things collected by gubment? Where does the database go? We might as well be fingerprinted anywhere with large crowds.
I agree. I don't trust them either. Basically when they scan for finger prints in order to get an instant answer if someone is in the sex offender or criminal database, they are hitting against the FBI and other national registry databases for these things. Nothing is to stop that data from being saved. It is likely not disney that saves it, but the database they are checking it against.

The fingerprinting to keep out the pedophiles is not a bad idea then. I avoid kid parks at all cost I can't stand lines and screaming kids 😐

Disney is evil. I went to Disney Land once in the mid-1990's before the finger print scanning, but I will never go back again.
They also have rules for their employees in the park who they call "cast members". People who have worked there have said that while you are posing for a picture with a smiling character in costume, you can bet one of them is throwing up inside their headpiece because it gets hot in there and sometimes people get sick. They are not allowed to take off their costume for any reason in front of "guests" and must smile at all times.
Disney also made all their long term American information technology workers train foreign replacements from India and then fired all the American workers. The workers were not allowed to speak out and if they refused to train their foreign replacements, they would get no severance pay. Disney abused the h1-b visa which is only supposed to be used IF an American workers cannot be found for the job. Obviously someone at Disney lied since there were already Americans doing these jobs.
