Many discliplines say to kill your ego. We see people on here and celebs like Kanye West or Trump possessing a super sized Ego that makes one wonder how it must feel to be so damn sure of yourself that you can start acting like a Deity.
Constantly hyper aware of status and maintaining your sense of self is something perhaps I should pay attention to more. Some of the most mundane and normal people think that they are geniuses and some geniuses are so boring that maybe they should stop telling us for the millionth time that they are smart. Most people will pick up on your level of intelligence in a rather short amount of time or at least that is a pleasant way to view humanity. Plenty of people are normal with big Ego's and charisma that make them interesting and plenty of people are super smart and have the charisma of a robot. Having an ego doesn't make you a Narcissist or Sociopath but being a Narcissist or Sociopath usually means you have a really big fucking ego...... (I guess my exploration of Facebook yesterday left more of a boot print then was recognized at the time.)
Those always actively spouting off how detached they are and enlightened seem to at times sport the biggest egos of all. Think Gurus of all kinds in Spirituality and Crypto who often seem more charmed by their own numbers or reflections than about actual facts. People on here tell me they are scared to say certain numbers such as the low retention rate here on Steemit. They say they are nervous to also pipe up that they have a lot of achievements under their belts because whatever blowhard of the day will tell them that they are never going to be at whatever bullshit bar has been set.
I have an Ego. I decided I'll give it a pet name. Herbert is going to be what I call my ego. Herbert and I are going to go on a trip together and I'm gonna buy my Ego a Beer! Perhaps it's time I throw my hat in the ring on some things and flex my own brain a bit more because I certainly don't remotely talk about what I'm actually capable of. Maybe "Herbert" and I will just go about quietly doing things and saying almost nothing of it and maybe I already have.

this is actually incorrect a clinical narcissist in most cases has an incredibly low self esteem in. This is the root of their behaviour Tump is the best example for that. He feels so insignificant that all he can think about is bragging and conning the world into believing that they are great. they need constant self gratification and adoration by others to avoid feeling like they are nothing . This is why anyone that insults them or does not play along becomes the enemy that they want to destroy (or anyone who they think might actually be more talented then they are ).
With sociopaths it has less to do with ego then just not seeing others as living beings It is a total or almost total lack of emotion and ability to connect to others emotionally. The sociopath is not only emotionally flat but also in most cases does not have a real sense of self , thats why they cannot see themselves reflected in others and thus lack the ability to emphasise with others. They are driven by impulses it is at t's core really a sad existence and a very lonely one.
As for geniuses talking about how smart they are real geniuses usually don't they are to busy using their smarts to do stuff . sure there is the occasional deviation from the rule but most braggarts are wither low calorie idiots wanting to seem to be something they are not or they are at best mediocre and have a desperate need to shine because they know they are second rate ...

seafood really, I am not a huge meat eater remotely like I was and avoid tons of foods, I personally applaud Vegans but for me I am mainly a fish eating , egg eating , non milk consuming type, in the future can see going back pretty hardcore though
Yeah seafood was the hardest for me too when i went vegetarian at 12 ... cheese was the next had thing but i am now 10 years vegan. It might help you to think of the projections top marine biologists are making they say if we do not stop our current fishing practises the oceans will most likely be void of relevant life around 2050-60. We know that things like that always impact the biome it happens in and as the ocean produces 60-80% of our breathable oxygen the ocean turning sour would mean we could no longer live without tanks to breath ... also many fish are super sweet and smart almost like dogs ... there is a great vegan fish supplier called sophies kitchen ... and the gardein fish stuff isn't half bad either ... as for eggs they grind up baby male chicks alive that might help you stop ... <3
I always admire your writing, you can say so much in so few words. Ego's are such complicated things, I think many would read through this post blissfully unaware of it's relevance to them.
