New Feature Activated on Steemit -- In Browser Notifications for Mentions - Replies, etc - Short Form Post w. Explainer Graphic
I was on my laptop today and I was asked if I wanted Steemit browser notifications, I said OK -- and here is what they look like.
As far as I know, today is the first day for these notifications and I thought I would let you know. -- here I am using Chrome as a browser and you can see @stellabelle replied to me and also tagged/mentioned me in a comment -- and I screen capped that so you could see the graphic.
Something like this embedded directly into Steemit the site- is still likely coming, but this is great for now. We have asked for en masse for a long time and it is tagged with roadmap because it is tied directly to features we have all discussed.
EDIT: Further, if someone shares one of your blog posts or your direct replies you have made (similar to a blog post) -- your notification will also go off. That is nice.

Thank you for the heads-up @barrydutton. I had to log out and then log back in for the notifications dialog to come up in Firefox.
Your input is valuable, @stellabelle is having issues, I am getting back thru replies now..... I asked her earlier what browser she was in, now I see your comments -- TY very much for the input.
The complete method involved logging out, closing the tab, opening new tab, loading steemit, logging in. Then I was prompted to activate notifications and selected my preferred method. It has been working perfectly.
