Biotic environment is the unity of living things, such as microorganisms, humans, plants, and animals. The abiotic environment is a condition in the environment around the form of inanimate objects, such as minerals, rocks, soil, water and air.
In Law No. 23/1997 on Environmental Management it is mentioned that the environment is the unity of space with all things, power, circumstances, and living things, including human beings and their behavior, which affect the viability of the living and human welfare and other living beings.

Environmental elements that can be utilized by humans can be referred to as natural resources, or in other words that natural resources are all potential biophysical environmental arrangements for the fulfillment of human needs. Natural resources are elements of the environment. Thus what is in the environment around us is a natural resource. Humans make use of the environment by using naturally occurring materials.
In general, some of the benefits of environmental elements for humans are as follows.
Space of the earth as a place of foothold and daily activities.
Land can be used as land for economic activities, such as agricultural land, plantations, and livestock, other social activities.
The element of air (oxygen) is very useful for human and animal breathing.
Animal and plant components are a source of food for humans.
Natural resources contained in the environment can be utilized to meet the needs of everyday life.
Microorganisms or microorganisms play a very important role in the process of decomposing the remains of dead bodies so that there is no accumulation of dead bodies of living creatures, but destroyed and returned to the elements of the soil.
