RE: Naughty Tagger's List 3/11/18 - 3/17/2018 -- Tag spammers identified.

in #steemit7 years ago

I went to each of these pages and upvoted Introbot's reply. I really like how the comments start out friendly and informative, then escalate to a red flag and a warning about downvoting. It's also very helpful that the number of infractions is listed.

There was one blogger who apologized and seemed not to know that he'd used the tag incorrectly. Of course, innocent mistakes could happen to any of us while trying to get to know this platform. I also saw several posts whose pages were "hidden due to low ratings." What does that mean?

Again, thank you for creating this bot, @bycoleman. I'm very new here (7 days), but have already seen that the Community itself is addressing issues of spam, botvotes, etc.

Thank you for the great reply and questions.

Yes, introbot does try to first educate and then warn more aggressively. The author has to pretty much ignore or simply defy multiple notifications. Once it starts downvoting, it uses stronger and stronger SP to get them to change their tag selection. It is very effective in the end.

The posts that no longer show are a result of introbots and/or byColeman downvotes, causing the authors post to be hidden.

When someone with a higher reputation than you downvotes your post, it effects your reputation negatively. If a high enough downvote power is used, the post may become hidden.

And of course welcome!

oh, now I understand a little bit more. Thanks!
Glad to be here on Steemit.
