Doing or not doing something so that you don't seem "lame", or so that you do seem "cool", is actually lame. So not voting for yourself for those reasons would be silly.
You get a few more steem, so of course you vote for yourself. Not doing so would be like a politician not voting for themselves. If you won't spend your influence on you, why should I?
well, I was being a bit sarcastic... In the end I don't pay much attention to how it's seen, I do it anyway, right? :)
