Wow, good luck with the new upvote bot. Seems there is going to be some fierce competition, but I think this is a great way for newcomers to boost themselves that little bit.

Provided people are not just taking the upvote value and then cashing out to sell on an exchange, and instead are reinvesting within the Steemit community, I think upvote bots certainly have their place.
