I certainly hope that the developers are working towards this. Unfortunately, just a couple weeks ago a lot of man hours had to be dedicated to dealing with a major hack and its aftermath... A week or two was spent just dealing with the fallout from that and trying to move on. Since then, we've been enjoying near daily improvements in the site interface. Personally I agree that nsfw content should be an immediate priority.... I also really like your suggestion of user-defined profiles that customize site content based on user-defined rules. I can envision several use cases for that functionality, especially in unison with @dantheman's delegated voting proposal.
I thought so too and am glad that you see the same customization being important. I know there are some incredibly important features that probably deserve more urgent development (notifications, ios android app) but would love to see this since the framework that allows the feeds that we now have seem to be in place to roll out this feature without extreme difficulty.
But sometimes things that seem incredibly easy to fix wind up taking much longer than expected. I try to give out as many ideas as possible because I think that even if I don't get rewarded directly for it now, it will make steemit better for the future and that is what I care more about than short term gains (although I will not turn them down).
I'm willing to put in the work to make sure steemit stays a great place to post content and engage with other users.
